Your previous experience and expertise—if you already have some building and construction experience, you may be well suited and attracted to taking on properties that need renovating or remodelling, either doing the work yourself or overseeing it being done by others. Even if you don’t have a background in building, but are willing to learn and get your hands dirty, renovation projects become a possibility. Equally useful, do you have project management experience or finance, negotiating or interior design skills you can bring to your new career? You’ll find that many of your existing skills and knowledge will come into play at some point.
